Crewe is a railway town whose name comes from the railway station and not the other way round. It is a large railway junction on the West Coast Main Line, with the station housing 12 platforms. The town boasts a direct service to London (Euston).

Alexandra Stadium is home to Crewe Alexandra F.C. whose nickname is The Railwaymen due to the town’s links to the railway industry. The town is passionate about its team so on home match days you know where everyone will be.

Crewe has a large park area called the Queen’s Park, which has walkways; children’s play areas, Crown Green bowling and a boating lake. Each summer, Crewe has its annual carnival. The town streets are filled with colour and music when local groups and organisations take part in this traditional event.

If you want to share in Crewe’s history then make sure the Heritage Centre is on your list of things to do and see.
